Townsend argues that the Book of Mormon incorporates language from exilic and post-exilic Isaiah, including Third Isaiah, together with New Testament passages in KJV form. He proposes that these integrated quotations and allusions place the relevant passages after the biblical texts on which they depend, creating chronological difficulties beyond the familiar objections to Isaiah 48–54.
